Finally Miller is BACK!

July 12th, 2005

Well, Frank Miller has returned to Batman comics, there’s a new Batman movie out inspired by his “Year One” and of course the fabolous Sin City movie (thank you Rodriguez!)… So what better way to celebrate than to get the Frank Miller Library back online? Please do not make any links to this site – as I will get a new domain for it, and proper permalinks…

Aswell, there seems to be some incompabilities between IE and FireFox so the design layout is not 100% yet.

It went down in mid May due to an idiot phishing hacker taking over the webserver. And lo and behold the new server discovered a bug in the websoftware I used (b2 v0.6) which I couldn’t fix… So time to put something new in place, and this is it … almost!

I still need to design a proper theme and get the pictures and covers back online – the good news is, I’ve reorganized my collection and will be adding Covers and Scans for almost every item on this site! (Please do not abuse them by linking off-site as I don’t want to put a lot of effort into annoying scripts to protect my server load… download’em if you want, put please credit the scans to “The Frank Miller Library” if possible.)

The Boy Wonder

May 6th, 2005

Frank Miller returns to the Batman legacy with All Star Batman & Robin, The Boy Wonder #1 in July. The 32 page comic written by Miller sports art by Batman “legend” Jim Lee (Batman: HUSH) on their first collaboration.

This could be fun, a reinvention of the Boy Wonder by Miller. This could shape up to be the next “Batman: Year One” – which I always loved! The comic ships with 2 different covers in a 50/50 ratio; one with the Bat and one with Robin. You can see both covers over at the Continuum.

Sin City – the movie

June 28th, 2004

I’m guessing most of the fans already know — I’ve just been lax to update (as usual with me) this site. Seems “cult” director Robert Rodriquez managed to convince Frank Miller to let him make a movie out of Sin City.

For the long time Miller fan this should be great news, and a surprise, as Miller’s been very anti-Hollywood ever since RoboCop and swore he wouldn’t let Hollywood touch any of his creations unless he had full control. (Just see his “bio” comic in the recent Dark Horse collection about his stint with Hollywood during filming of DareDevil.) Read the rest of this entry »

Finally, the last issue of The Dark Knight Strikes Again (#3) is scheduled to arrive in yer local comics shoppe on the 31st of July. No more than about 6 months delayed!

“DARK KNIGHT RETURNS #3 is here,” Bob announced in triumph. “Really. It’s right here on my desk.” While readers have waited with eager anticipation for the concluding chapter of Frank Miller’s epic tale, Bob is happy to inform us the wait is over.

“This is an important story for Frank,” Bob said. “Due to complications here at DC and thereabouts, it took a little longer to get this one onto the shelves, but whether it comes out today or two years from today, this is the same story Frank pitched to me two years ago, untouched and unaltered. It’s certainly worth the wait.”

Server upgrade

March 27th, 2002

I just upgraded the webserver, lots more of CPU, RAM and diskspace. Initial tests showed a real gain in effective speed, so I hope this will work out for a while… at least I can’t complain about the bandwidth :-) .

I’ve just finished scanning all the covers for the Daredevil issues on this webpage. Next up is modifying the scripts to automatically display the covers, and upload them to server. This means that I’ll be closing the old website very soon!
